ALERT: Portage County Under Level 2 Snow Emergency. Residents Urged to Stay Off Roadways

Portage County, OH - The Portage County Sheriff, Dave Doak, has issued a 'LEVEL 2 SNOW EMERGENCY' for the county. Portage County roadways are hazardous, with blowing and drifting snow, and should only be used for essential personnel and those who find it absolutely necessary. Those who live in the county should contact their employees to see if they should report to work.

According to the Ravenna Post of the State Highway Patrol, there are numerous vehicles stranded or ditched off the roadways.

There are currently a parking bans for streets in the cities of Kent and Ravenna.
